Last night was the most perfect way to celebrate the sun 🌞 My mom and I experienced a sound bath for the first time with @crystalbowlsoundmeditation Sound heals us on such an energetic level and I have never felt this amount of calmness, stillness or presence in my body or my mind. Today we ate welcoming Alyssa to the tribe! Alyssa is currently a student at MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy. She has completed her first year of training and will be starting her second year in September to complete the 2200 hour program. Alyssa decided to follow her passions and make a career change to Massage Therapy after many years of working in the oil and gas industry. She has always taken an interest in health and wellness and is passionate about helping others, as massage therapy has helped her in the past. Alyssa grew up in the Millet area and looks forward to bringing relaxation and wellness to the community. Her availability is Monday Tuesday and Thursday and is all set to book appointments online! She believes in balancing both the body and the mind specializing in both therapeutic/rehabilitation techniques as well as relaxation. Justine is trained in multiple techniques ranging from hot stones, cupping, prenatal, trigger point therapy, Thai herbal compress, deep tissue, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage and rehabilitation. Inhale-Exhale! It is something we all do without without thought, something that is given freely to us and something that we can not go without. Yet most of us are not breathing properly, some using only 10% of our lung capacity. Improper and shallow breathe can have many side effects such as fatigue, sleep disorders, dizziness, muscle cramps and cloudy vision and thoughts as our bodies are not absorbing enough oxygen to nourish the organs, tissues and cells. Try taking a few slow, deep breathes filling up your lungs all the way, maybe even filling up your belly! And then slowly and controlled, exhale. Next time you find yourself stressing, take moment and focus on your breath, bring it to a slower and deeper state. This will cause a reflex in the brain to bring you down to a more relaxed state!
Today is International Meditation Day AND a new moon in Taurus 🌑 This new moon is all about change, and may shake up our lives in a new way. However scary change is, it is the one thing that is inevitable in this life and is always for a purpose, bringing growth to a better and higher place. If we always stayed in the same place and never changed we would never really be able to experience life to the fullest. Today, on #internationalmeditationday sit in a quite spot alone and meditate.
